Christopher Jones worked in the Sports Information Department at Norfolk State University while he was a student in college. Using his experience as a member of the SID office Chris started StatVA with the mission of bringing statistical information to the high school level.
Christopher currently reside in Richmond, VA and heads StatVA in the Richmond, VA area.

Michael Whittington was a football player at Norfolk State and learned how to do statistics from Christopher Jones while he interned for the now defunct Norfolk Nighthawks franchise of AFL2.
When the idea was brought to Michael about expanding to the high school level it was an opportunity he could not pass up.
Michael is from Hopewell, Virginia and now resides in Virginia Beach, VA

Tiffani is in-charge of supervising events in the Hampton Roads and North Carolina area.
Tiffani Sykes has worked as a college sports administrator for over a decade at various institutions. She has held positions at Virginia State University, Saint Paul’s College, Virginia Union University, Grambling State University, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association and Chowan University. She currently serves as the Director of NCAA Compliance at Chowan University (Murfreesboro, NC).
Tiffani received her Master of Science degree from Grambling State University in Sport Administration in 2009, where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA. Tiffani completed her undergraduate work at Virginia State University in 2001, where she was a two-sport athlete (volleyball and track & field). She is currently the VSU record holder for career service aces (1997-2000) and single-season service aces (1998).
Tiffani is a native of Portsmouth, VA and currently resides in Murfreesboro, NC.
Sports Information Director at Virginia State University/Stat Coordinator for StatVA
Jason Pompey is the Sports Information Director at Virginia State University. Pompey has three years of previous sports information duties starting out as an undergraduate work-study student at Virginia Union University and as a graduate-assistant at Virginia State University.
Pompey received his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Virginia Union University in 2009 and his Master’s degree in Sports Management from Virginia State University in 2010.
Interning for previous sports information directors such as Jim Junot at Virginia State University as well as both Tiffany D. Sykes and Tamika Duck at Virginia Union University,
Pompey has worked and learned various tasks in the sports information world. With a great background, Pompey has the drive and passion to continue the trend of young successful sports information directors in the CIAA conference.
In addition to becoming the prime contact for VSU Sports Information, Pompey will be responsible for web content maintenance, publication of athletic newspapers, script for game summaries, pre and post game process, composing/editing player profiles, script for game day announcements, as well as calling and faxing facts and figures to media outlets.
Pompey is a native of Queens, NY and now resides in Richmond, VA.
Bryan A. Cannon is a proud alumnus of Virginia State University, where he received his undergraduate degree in Sport Management. Bryans love for sports stems back to his childhood, as he football and basketball throughout elementary and high school. His start with statistics began his senior year at VSU while interning for Bianca Warren at St. Pauls College.
He attributes his knowledge of the statistical world of sports to his tutelage under Ms. Warren. Through a mutual friend Jason Pompey, Bryan was introduced to STATVA owner and President Christopher Jones. Under the guidance of Mr. Jones, Bryans statistical skills were refined and is now a professional statistician.
Mr. Cannon is a native of Hampton VA, but now resides in the Richmond area.
STATVA has been in business since 2002 handling statistics for high school teams in the Hampton Roads and Richmond area.
In addition to high schools STATVA has handled the VHSL Eastern Region Football Playoffs, VHSL State Football Finals, VHSL Central and Eastern Region AAA Semi-Finals and Finals, VHSL State Quarterfinals, Benedictine Capital City Classic, The Nike Elite Youth Basketball League, and various All-Star Basketball events.
